Camon CX ready for Pre-Order in Kenya

It’s official. It’s not going to be Camon C10. It’s Camon CX! But to be fair, we were not very wrong with our guesses since, in Roman figures, X translates to 10.

And have you seen the launch invitation? It is, well, quite inviting. See the featured image.

The last of the Camon series was a C9 and it comes as no surprise that CX and CX Air are on their way, except that we didn’t expect Tecno to take a different direction with the naming.

No one should lie they guessed right. I know I didn’t.

We can finally stop making wild guesses as Tecno is set to launch Camon CX and CX Air on 23rd of February 2017 in Kenya.

Choosing Kenya for the global launch of the two handsets is definitely a good sign: That Kenya has become a notable Tech Hub Maybe? Or that Tecno has a massive footprint in Kenya?

The Camon series is camera-focused; hence, expectations are high.

It is rumored that CX and CX Air will feature 16MP rear and front cameras. Camon C9 packed a 13MP primary camera; hence, it is not ambitious to expect 16MP.

The rear and front cameras are expected to come with dual flash.

Members of the Camon family take gorgeous selfies; hence, we should expect CX and CX Air to raise the standards since they are expected to come with more powerful cameras.

At the moment, we can only speculate about the specs and since the rumor mills never closed shop, we are left with no choice but to report.

The handset is expected to have a 5.5-inch full HD screen and 5.6mm slim.

Since it’s 2017 and we are over Android v6.0, we can definitely appreciate that CX and CX Air may come with Android 7.0 Nougat.

Also, it is rumored that the handsets are 4G-enabled and this is definitely a welcome improvement.

Other important predictions are Mediatek MT6750T Octa-core processor, 2GB or 3 GB RAM, and dual Micro SIM slots.

One thing that will not exactly put a smile on your face is the battery capacity.

If the rumors are anything to go by, the handsets will come with a 3200mAh non-removable Lion battery.

I hope the rumor mills got this one wrong since a battery capacity that low is not welcome. Camon C9 came with a 3000mAh Li-ion battery; hence, little improvements have been made in this sector.

The leaked images do not give away a lot and we cannot confirm whether the handsets come with a fingerprint sensor.

Regardless, chances are that the handsets will come with this feature since it has become a must-have.

At this point, it is hard to tell rumors and facts apart.

You cannot be sure about what to believe at this point but the better news is that we just have to wait for a few more days to find out. See you at the global launch!

Note: If you wish to pre-order, there are some selected local shops that can take your order.
