Microsoft has just revealed its most powerful console ever: the Xbox One X.

The company is not shy to say that this console comes with 40% more power than any other console

Xbox One X was revealed during Microsoft’s E3 2017 Conference and it comes with the promise of better graphics for players.

The reveal comes after months of uncertainty since Microsoft had been talking of “Project Scorpio” and describing it as the “most powerful console ever”

Microsoft also revealed some games that come with the new Xbox One and they include Crackdown 3, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and Forza Motorsport 7.

    Xbox One X features

With regard to the console’s specifications, Microsoft has definitely done better than Sony’s gaming systems. It comes with a much faster processing power, more powerful GPU, and more memory. Sony has been irrefutably beaten. At least for now.

The new Console will come with 6 teraflops GPU with 40 compute units of graphical power which is notably higher than that of its biggest competitor, PS4 Pro, which stands at 4.2 teraflops. It will also come with an Ultra HD Blu-ray drive for 4K movies and entertainment as well as 1TB storage.

Other specifications are eight-core X86 chip clocked at 2.3GHz, integrated AMD graphics, 12GB of GDDR5 memory (which is more than the 8GB in PlayStation 4 Pro), and a 4K/HDR Blu-ray drive.

Also, the console comes with support for 4K and HDR television sets. This tells the story of sharper looking games that can that can play on both next-generation and older looking TVs.

The design definitely reminds us of Xbox One S model especially the rear. The rear of the new console has an HDMI-in port and no dedicated Kinect port. Generally, we cannot point out many external changes over the Xbox One S design.

Still on design, Microsoft has also stated that the console is the smallest the company has ever released. This is rather pleasant since some of the company’s devices have been a bit bulky. This one weighs 8.4 pounds. Still high but we will take it.

Project Scorpio’s Price Tag not such a Surprise

One thing that we cannot ignore is the amount of focus on the price tag of the new Xbox One gaming system. Before the big reveal, the question of how much the console would cost has been in many people’s minds.

    Blame that on Microsoft.

The company has been busy touting us about empowered hardware and 4K gaming and that did get the attention of many.

We were afraid that the “most powerful” console in the world would cost too much. Perhaps $599? The $499 price tag is okay. Some were hoping that the price would go way down to $399 but that was not to be. In any case, you can’t always get what you want.

The price makes sense and the console can be described as being “reasonably expensive”

For now, shipping is only applicable for Xbox One X with the black design and 1TB storage.
