Caster Semenya Presents her Olympic Medal to her Wife
Johannesburg Airport welcomed Caster Semenya home but her eyes were fixed on her beautiful wife whom she was surely missing.
Caster Semenya won her first Olympic gold in women’s 800m in Rio in a race where Kenya’s Margaret Wambui finished third.
Semenya won her country’s second gold in Rio and South Africans reciprocated with a heroic welcome for the athlete when she touched down in Jo’burg.

The South African runner was subjected to humiliating gender tests back in 2009 after media controversy over her “abnormally” high testosterone level for a female athlete.
Semenya who is chromosomally female is believed to have a rare hyperandrogenist intersex condition that leads to the production of more testosterone than usual.
Semenya married her longtime girlfriend, Violet Ledile Raseboya, in 2015 in a traditional wedding ceremony that was held in their home province of Limpopo.
Having beaten her previous 800 m best by four seconds at the African Junior Championships just a month earlier, her quick improvements came under scrutiny. The combination of her rapid athletic progression and her appearance culminated in the IAAF asking her to take a gender test to ascertain whether she was female.
