President Uhuru Kenyatta Godsent? This Interesting Bible Comparison Suggests So
Following days of uncertainty, President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday 24 August put his signature on the Banking (Amendment) Bill, 2015.
The bill seeks to cap the maximum interest banks can charge and was heavily criticized by those in the banking sector. There were reports that the president would veto the bill, considering his family’s interests in the banking sector, but that did not come to pass.
Now, social media user Joe Mithamo has pointed out a stark similarity between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Nehemiah(of the Bible).
Quoting the verse in Nehemiah 5:10, Joe claims Uhuru is God sent.
This was his post:
The truth.
UHURU MUIGAI KENYATTA!!
#GodSent
Compare these two and praise God.
President Uhuru Kenyatta told the Bankers: I and my family also have interests in banking. But this practice of charging poor Kenyans high-interest rates must stop.
Nehemiah 5:10
Nehemiah told the nobles and officials: “I and my brothers and my men are also lending the people money and grain. But let the exacting of usury stop!”
*****************
Just like Uhuru Kenyatta, Nehemiah was a lender (a banker). And when the poor cried to these two leaders, they shelved their personal interests and passed pro-poor policies regarding interest rates on loans.
That’s how you know a leader is the Lord’s anointed. He doesn’t have to call himself “Mighty”.
A tree is known by its fruits, a man by his deeds!!!
