Cord leader Raila Odinga has once again hinted that he may not vie for the presidency in 2017. The former Prime Minister has had three unsuccessful attempts at the top job, and next year has been branded as his ‘last bullet’.

Unlike in 2007 when the odds were in his favor, this time he is seen entering the race as an underdog, without the massive regional support he once enjoyed.

Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula have in recent days expressed their displeasure at another Raila candidature and pundits think it is unlikely they will play second fiddle again.

In an interview with Standard at his Karen home, Raila said he is willing to shelve his ambitions provided Cord’s candidate has the clout to floor Uhuru Kenyatta.

He further revealed that his coalition is not limiting itself to Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula and himself.

“If my candidature proves to be an impediment in our determined resolve to rescue the country from the grips of Jubilee, and if supporting another person would help, I would be more than willing to step down for them,”  Raila said.

Raila continued to insist that his victory was stolen in 2007 and 2013, and that’s why he is fighting for electoral reforms.

“I have run three times. I have lost once. I know I was robbed. I know how I was robbed and that’s why I have insisted on electoral reforms. I know once we fix the IEBC we will be securing our victory. I am much wiser,” he said.

Reportedly, Cord has brought in a team of experts to study the strengths of all possible leaders who can square it out with Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto.

Kenya’s second largest bank by market value, KCB, will this week close all its branches for three days.

In a letter dated August 5th, the Central Bank expressed no objection to the temporary closure of all KCB branches between Friday 12th and Sunday 14th August. The bank reportedly wants to do a system upgrade.

On Friday however, it will not be a full day closure, but from 3 pm. Here’s the letter.

Flamboyant lawyer Donald Kipkorir made blog headlines last week when images of his new Range Rover Sport HSE 2016 emerged.

The new car is worth Sh24 million, and that’s before you add the cost of a customized number plate.

He says he is the only one in Kenya with this new model.

Nation published an article where they undervalued the price by a whooping Sh14 million, and Donald was not impressed.

He posted two photos of his old and new Range Rovers on his Twitter, pointing out to the journalists that there’s a big difference.

However, one person who was not happy with Donald’s display of wealth is accomplished lawyer Paul Muite.

“Wakili;both Range Rovers are your personal property,we don’t need to know !!” he tweeted.

Another lawyer, Dennis Gwaro, added, “An adult with an immense teenage ego. People with yachts and private jets don’t do this”

And then Donald replied to both of them.

Another person commented, and I agree, that just like his houses and cars and trips abroad, Donald should also keep us posted on the charity works he does.

1. Pregnancy

It has been found that mosquitoes are attracted to the carbon dioxide that people produce when they breathe. Pregnant women produce more of it, making them a prime target for the notorious insect. With the current Zika virus outbreak, this presents a very real danger to the babies.

2. Exercise

Mosquitoes are attracted to lactic acid, which is produced in large quantities in your muscles when they are subjected to physical strain. So don’t be surprised to find mosquitoes attacking you with aggression after a jog.

3. Alcohol

According to experts, heat-producing drinks make us very attractive to mosquitoes. Alcohol in particular raises our body temperature and mosquitoes move in for the warmth.

4. Type O blood

Research has found that people with type A blood are the least likely to be bitten by mosquitoes, while those with type O blood are the most likely. The likelihood of a mosquito biting you if you have type O blood is 83%.
