Dr. Alfred Ng’anga Mutua, famously known as Mutua rela was born on the 22nd August 1970 in a remote village called Massi, in Machakos county Eastern Province, currently known as Eastern Region.
Education background
Having been born from a humble background, Dr. Alfred Mutua was brought up and grew in the slums of Kibera. He started his education in Toi Primary; he later joined Dagoretti High for (O levels). Having been passionate about achieving the best in his education life, he went further to join Jamhuri High school for (A level). Having passed his A-level examination, Dr. Alfred Mutua was privileged to join Whitworth College in the United States of America to pursue a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism. He then joined Eastern Washington University, U.S.A, to do his Masters in Communication and finally did Doctorate in communication and media relations at the University of Western Sydney, Australia.
Professional Background
He started his first job at a construction site known as “mjengo” from a humble background. Thereafter, he has worked at Daystar University as a lecturer and an assistant professor at Zayed University in Dubai. Alfred Mutua has also been a movie director. Under his production unit Golden Dreams Company LTD, he produced the famous Kenyan action series “Cobra Squad,” which shot his name to very high levels in the film industry. Not long after then, he produced another great family show, “Beba Beba.” Which was aired by Nation TV. Under his company, the famous “Passion Magazine,” which caught Kenyan youths’ eyes, was produced, and the popular article, “Msafiri,” was one of his works.
Political Career
Dr. Alfred Mutua’s political journey started when he was official appointed as the official government spokesperson in President Mwai Kibaki’s government from 2002 to 2012 before resigning in September 2012. He received an Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear award for being a loyal and exemplary servant of the nation. He was also the one behind the “Najivunia kuwa mkenya campaign.” In the 2013 general election, Dr. Alfred Mutua vied for the Machakos County vie Wiper Democratic Movement’s gubernatorial seat and won. He took his oath of office as the first governor of Machakos County. However, he resigned from the wiper party in 2016 and formed his own party Maendeleo ChapChap, which je used to vie as the governor for Machakos County for the second he won. He is the current governor for Machakos County, working to create more job opportunities for youth in his county; he has also declared interest in contesting for presidency come the next general election.
Apart from politics, Mutua is also a family man though he is a bit preservative about his immediate family. Himself he had two other siblings; a sister and a brother. Mutua has sired five children in total. 2 of his children are of his ex-wife Josephine Thitu Maundu, and the other three are of his current wife Lilian Ng’ang’a. Mutua’s dad is alleged to be a Luo.
