A fresh Kenyatta University graduate met her tragic death on Tuesday morning after her lover stabbed her to death at their apartment in Kahawa Wendani.
The 22 year old girl, identified as Edinas Nyainda, was stabbed several times by her boyfriend, identified as Maxwell Ochieng.
The watchman said that he heard a commotion inside their house at around 3 am. When he went to check, Maxwell threatened him with a knife. “I heard a commotion at around 3am and when I went to check the assailant threatened me with a knife prompting me to call the police,” he said.
According to reports, the two had a disagreement after the girl threatened to leave the man. It is said that Maxwell paid for her school fees, only to be dumped a few days after she completed her studies.
Nyainda graduated 10 days ago from Kenyatta University.
Police were forced to use teargas to access the house near Nakumatt Supermarket after the killer threatened to kill anyone attempting to get inside. Maxwell was arrested and taken to Ruiru police station. It is said that he also tried to kill himself with the same knife.
