Angela Angwenyi, who is the former Nation FM and Kiss 100 presenter’s bank account has been frozen. This has come after investigations found her to have had a link with National Youth Service (NYS) scandal.
Angwenyi’s account at Housing Finance is among 115 accounts in 14 banks that have been frozen for 90 days pending investigation on the massive looting in NYS.
The bank account was frozen following a court order in Nairobi following the application by the Asset Recovery Agency (ARA) to have the account investigated.
From the records with the anti-corruption agency, Angela’s company (Out of The Box Solutions) won the tender to conduct sensitization campaigns targeting women, youth and persons with disabilities, under the Access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPRO) program.
In 2015, Angela had appeared before parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC), to explain how she had convinced the Ministry of Devolution and National Planning to win the tender to supply questionable services.
The company, Out of The Box Solutions, owned by Angela Angwenyi, had landed a Shs302 Million contract and as at 2016, when she appeared before PAC, the ministry had so far paid Sh90.7 million.
