Police arrested 10 high school students on Wednesday evening after they were caught drinking in Nyeri Town.
The nine boys and one girl, all students of Tetu Secondary School in Nyeri County, were found staggering in the town after a drinking spree.
They were also found in possession of miraa and bhang.
Acting on a tip-off from members of the public, police pounced on the students, some of whom were partially in school uniform.
The students attempt to flee failed as they were too intoxicated to even walk. One of them could barely say his name and could not comprehend where he was. Others had reportedly urinated on themselves.
They were taken to Nyeri Central Police station where upon being searched, police found several bags of miraa and two bags of unrolled bhang.
Nyeri Central OCPD, Masai Makau condemned the behavior of the school children and urged bar proprietors not to sell alcohol to minors.
