Long serving Athletics Kenya President Isaiah Kiplagat is dead. Kiplagat died on Wednesday morning after losing a battle with cancer. He was 72 years of age.
According to close family, Mr. Kiplagat was undergoing treatment for cancer and other complications. There however are conflicting reports on whether he died at his home or in hospital. He has been unwell for years but his condition worsened in the past four months.
Kiplagat has been at the helm of Kenya’s athletics for almost 3 decades, but was currently serving a suspension imposed by Athletics international body, IAAF.
