Atheists in Kenya oppose Uhuru’s nomination of Bishop Wabukhala as EACC Chair
Atheists in Kenya have complained to President Uhuru Kenyatta opposing his choice, Bishop Eliud Wabukhala for the chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC).
Atheists in Kenya (AIK) have assured President Uhuru Kenyatta that they will challenge the nomination of former Anglican Arch Bishop Eliud Wabukhala for the EACC chairperson position.
AIK chairman Harrison Mumia said in a statement that Wabukhala lacked many qualities and worse could forgive the corrupt.
In a statement, he was quoted saying:
“We doubt he has the stamina, drive, experience character and predisposition to take on politically sensitive and high voltage cases in this country”
He Added:
“In the church forgiveness is virtue and punishment are never emphasized. How will a person who believes in the Bible’s message of forgiveness and who has preached this message for 20 years be good for EACC?”
He said a Bishop was worse than a pretender to head the organization. Wabukhala is set to assume a position left vacant by Philip Kinisu who resigned after his integrity was questioned.
Kinisu was linked to a company that did business with the National Youth Service (NYS) where a multi-million scandal was unearthed.
