GOtv Kenya, a subsidiary of Multichoice, is one of the major players in the pay-tv services in Kenya.
In 2020, the ‘Home of African television’ slashed its monthly subscription fees for the Value and Lite bouquets.
While GOtv described this move as a show of commitment to deliver affordable digital family entertainment, mounting competition could have been a major influence.
GOtv faces competition from other pay-tv services such as Zuku, Startimes, and Bamba.
The stiff competition occasioned by the presence of several players in the market is likely to limit price increases.
Will we see more players entering the market? Maybe. The only constant is that competition will continue to mount. Subscribers can only hope that these prices will be slashed further.
That may explain why GOtv recently introduced a loyalty reward program, GOtv WOW. This rewards you with extra channels at no extra cost.
As expected, there is a condition:
You should stay connected to GOtv for three months continuously and paid on time in each of the three months and Safaricom airtime worth Ksh. 50 for GOtv Value or Ksh. 100 for GOtv Plus. Apart from the rewards, GOtv fees are also reasonable.
At present, a GOtv decoder and GOtenna retail at Ksh. 2,999. This starter kit comes with a free one-month GOtv Plus subscription.You can get the GOtenna separately for Ksh. 1000.

A new subscriber gets GOtv Plus and that means enjoying 43 local and international channels. After one month, the subscriber is free to choose the package that suits their viewership needs and pocket.

GOtv Plus is the premium bouquet; hence, higher priced of the three while GOtv Lite is the cheapest. GOtv gives you the option to downgrade to cheaper packages.

GoTv is a scam . I paid 1499 for a full year on lite but you decided to deduct five months instead and this happened in 2017 and you promised not to repeat it again but you repeated the same last year until I decided to throw the decoder away. You are not good people at all.

Hello Mugo. The most probable explanation would be because of the package you are subscribed to. However, please read the message displayed on the screen when you select that channel. If the message reads, in part, “…you should upgrade your GOtv bouquet to view this channel…” that means that you cannot view the channel unless you are on another bouquet.

it just bogus since for the last two (2)years we have been seeing same movies at zee world and B4U channels! You people are taking us for granted.
