KDF’s Marathon Winner Jemima Sumgong gets a promotion

KDF’s Jemimah Sumgong was on Tuesday feted by The Kenya Defense Forces when she was promoted.
The Olympic winner was promoted from the rank of Corporal Private to promotion from Senior Private to Corporal.
Jemima Sumgong won Kenya its first ever Olympic gold in women’s marathon.
The closet Kenya had come to winning gold was in Athens and Beijing Olympics in 2004 and 2008 when the great Catherine Ndereba won silver.
