Murang’a OCS Shot Dead by Junior Police Officer
Police are pursuing a junior officer after he shot a OCS in Kgumo Murang’a County. According to Murang’a County Police Commander Naomi Ichami motive of the shooting could not be immediately established.
The Junior Officer shot the OCS five times before fleeing when other officers launched a man hunt immediately. According to reports, the officer grabbed the pistol from the OCS shooting him in both hands, twice in the stomach and his right leg.
The OCS died at around 8 pm while waiting for an ambulance to take him to Kenyatta National Hospital.He also shot two other officers when fleeing but their condition could not be established immediately.
According to officers from the station, the OCS had threatened to take disciplinary action against the officer after he reported to work drunk. Other reports indicate that it maybe a crime of passion as the officer was involved in a love triangle with a woman believed to be dating the OCS.
Ms. Ichami urged the public to be on the lookout for the suspect and report to security officers if they spot him.She, however, urged the public to be cautious as the officer was armed and dangerous.
