Sonko and Kabogo’s Sh20 Million Military Vehicle That Caused Drama in Kiambu

After Kiambu gubernatorial aspirant Ferdinand Waititu publicly endorsed Eugene Wamalwa for Nairobi governor, Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Mike Sonko, has teamed up with Waititu’s foe and current Kiambu governor William Kabogo.

The two attended a joint rally in Ruiru over the weekend, but it is their choice of vehicle that is making headlines.

The only car that could comfortably fit the flamboyance of both leaders a ‘Hummer-like’ military truck.

The vehicle – Iveco LMV (Light Multirole Vehicle), is a 4WD tactical vehicle developed by Italian industrial vehicle manufacturer Iveco (Industrial Vehicles Corporation).

It is a military vehicle used by armies of Belgium, Italy, Norway, Russia, Spain etc.

And unarmored version of this vehicle costs about Sh19.8 million, with the armored one going for Sh29.7 million.

Depending on the extras, the price can go up to Sh53 million. It is unclear who between Sonko and Kabogo owns it.
