SONU Chair Babu Owino responds to Bahati “unseating ” the President Drama
Student Organisation of Nairobi University (SONU) Chairman Babu Owino has chimed in on the raging debate whether Bahati’s act of sitting on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s seat was improper.
The controversial student leader claimed that Bahati lacks respect to the president and said “sioni ubaya yeyote apo”.
On Saturday, September 10 the President literally stood from his seat at the Jubilee Party official launch in Kasarani and let gospel singer Bahati sit on it as he sang the song Mama to Kenya’s First Lady Margaret Kenyatta.
Bahati seemingly excited threw his legs up in the air while seated on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s seat, and in another incident, Bahati placed his feet on DP William Ruto’s table.
Bahati was performing his hit single mama which has seen him catapult immense populality among Kenyans.
SONU leader Babu Owino has now weighed in on the matter and was quoted saying:
“That was not disrespect. Bahati did not do anything wrong when he sat on the president’s seat. It could be that he planned his performance in such a manner. It could also be that Bahati is ambitious, and he dreams of becoming a president one day. However, it was quite immature and improper of him to put his feet on DP Ruto’s table. There were bottles of water on the table, you can imagine the health consequences”
The debate on if Bahati was on the wrong or right is still raging on the inter webs.
