Tecno Camon CX Specifications and Price in Kenya
Tecno Camon CX or Camon C10 has been on the wait list of many techies. After all, Tecno ALMOST did it with Phantom 6 and Phantom 6 Plus.
This time, the giant Chinese manufacturer is promising big things. The company launched CX and CX Air on the 23rd March 2017.
The handset was launched alongside Tecno Camon CX Air at an event held at the Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi.
The handset is camera focussed as it comes with impressive camera features in addition to the 16MP for the rear and back cameras.
Camon C9’s camera was awesome; hence, Tecno had to bring it with this one. Tecno did not take us a step back. At least not on the camera.
Tecno Camon C9 is CX’s predecessor and since it proved to be bae, we can only go by Tecno’s word that the next flagship will be a game changer.
Camon CX Specifications:
- OS: Android 7.0 Nougat +HiOS 2.0
- Display: 5.5-inch Full HD display with 2.5d Glass screen, 1920×1080 pixel resolution
- MT6750T Octa-Core 1.5GHz
- Camera: 16MPfront camera, 16MP front camera with Dual-Flash
- Memory: 2GB RAM with 16GB ROM expandable by up to 128GB
- Battery: 3200mAh Li-Polymer battery capacity
- 4G-enabled
Judging from the specs, it seems that the most outstanding feature is the camera. This feature is the handset’s strongest point and this makes perfect sense since its predecessor had impressive camera features.
This is the first handset by Tecno to come with Nougat 7.0 right out of the box.
This is definitely good news since the standard has already been set by some mid-range handsets in its category.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that the phone manufacturer is also planning to provide a Nougat 7.0 upgrade to C9 users.
The handset is encrusted in a full metal body.
Aesthetically, Tecno Camon CX is beautifully crafted but that’s expected as Tecno has continued to manufacture handsets that are easy on the eye.
The 16GB internal storage is too little for a handset in its category. It would have been better if the giant manufacturer included a 32GB ROM.
But at least, it can be expanded by up to 128GB.
The price of Camon CX in Kenya is Ksh. 19,999. This is acceptable since it falls within what most Kenyans can afford for a handset.
Phantom 6 and 6 plus retail at Ksh. 22,899 and Ksh. 28,890 respectively on Jumia and this pricing was not exactly received with ululations.
Many people were disappointed with this pricing despite the fact that Tecno had managed to create quite a buzz way before the launch of the two handsets.
Most local customers are not exactly willing to splurge on a handset if they can get an equivalent at a much lower price.
That said, the psychological pricing is definitely okay. Also, the prices of some of its greatest competitors fall under the same range.
Infinix Zero 4 is one of its competitors and its price tag is Ksh. 18,999 while that of HTC Desire 728 Ultra is Ksh. 19,999.
If you did not get the launch invite, it probably got lost on the way. But don’t worry; you can always watch how things went down online. You can also buy a unit.
