Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru has officially joined politics and hinted at vying for Kirinyaga governorship.
Waiguru announced her membership of TNA party on Friday and was presented with a gold membership, making her a life member.
“TNA is the first party I have ever become a member of in my move from being a technocrat. I am excited now that I will be part of the team,” Waiguru said.
TNA is expected to soon fold up and join the Jubilee Party alongside 12 other parties during a national delegates meeting.
Waiguru revealed that her next destination is Kirinyaga, but refused to officially throw her hat into the gubernatorial race.
“I am going to the grassroots to consult with the people of Kirinyaga before I can finally announce what we agree with them,” she said.
It will be an uphill task for current Kirinyaga governor Joseph Ndathi facing Waiguru who has national popularity. Also interested in the seat is Kirinyaga Central MP Joseph Gitari and businessman Muriithi Kagai.
Waiguru’s posters are already circulating in Kirinyaga, but her team say they have nothing to do with it.
