KDF Officially Launches Nationwide Recruitment

KDF has officially launched nationwide recruitment.

Director Public Communication Mr. Bogita Ongeri welcomes journalists at Headquarter Kenya Army Officers Mess for the press briefing on recruitment which started on 19th Sept – 18th Oct 2016.

The Vice Chief of the Defence Forces Lieutenant General Joseph Kasaon on 19 September 2016 officially launched the Nationwide Military Recruitment exercise as he presided over a media briefing held at the Defence Headquarters, Nairobi.

Lieutenant General Kasaon said that the recruitment exercise officially commences across the 320 sub-counties and will run for 28days until 18th October 2016.

The whole exercise will be overseen by the Chief of Defence Forces assisted by Chief Recruiting Officer Brigadier Kiugu and 16 other senior recruiting officers.

He also reminded members of the public that General Service Officers and Specialist Officers who had earlier applied for their respective places will be shortlisted and notified via the media between 1st -9th October 2016.

Giving KDF data to the media in past corruption incidents, the Vice Chief of Defence Forces assured of an open and free exercise as he highlighted that the Ministry of Defence is a corruption free organization with Integrity, transparency and accountability.

“KDF stands for zero tolerance, which is a policy on our Citizen Service Charter,” he added.

He was happy to note that there has been a sharp decrease in corruption cases.

The VCDF maintained that control measures have been put in place as he invited members of the public and all oversight authorities including the media to be vigilant during the one-month long exercise.

Vice Chief of the Defence Forces Lieutenant General Kasaon emphasized that KDF does not need money from the public for any recruitment exercise saying the exercise is totally free.

He further urged the public to keep off fraudsters and report any form of corruption on hotline number 020-2307971 or contact nearby Police Station and senior recruiting officer on sight.

Present during the function were Assistant Chief of Defence Forces Personnel and Logistics Major General Samuel Nandwa, Chief Recruiting Officer Brigadier Kiugu, Chief of Personnel Brigadier Martin Ongoyi, Director of Public Communication Ministry of Defence Mr. Bogita Ongeri, senior military officers and members of the press.
